This policy explains what information Huddit collects, why, and how it is protected. It is written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Sable Invest (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party.
Huddit is made for school learners, so we collect as little as possible about them. A parent or guardian creates the account and gives consent for each child profile. A child profile has a first name or nickname, a grade and a PIN. We do not ask children for an email address, surname, school, date of birth, photo or location. If we learn that an account was created for a child without a parent's consent, we will close it.
We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal information to anyone.
To build and play your study packs, to save progress, to run the plan you have paid for, to answer support requests, and to keep the service secure. We send emails only about your account (sign-in, receipts, important changes), not marketing, unless you opt in.
Because some of these operators are outside South Africa, your information is transferred abroad. We only use operators that are bound by written terms and data-protection laws at least as strong as POPIA.
For as long as your account exists. Delete the account and your packs, audio and progress are deleted within 30 days; payment records are kept for 5 years as required by tax law.
You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you or your child, object to its processing, or complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za). Email [email protected]. Our Information Officer is the CEO of Sable Invest (Pty) Ltd.
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Each account can only read its own data; the database enforces this, not only the app. Audio files are private and served through short-lived links. Staff access to data is limited to support requests you raise.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will email account holders before the change takes effect.
